Over 60s Rhubarb Textile Workshop
Description
Get creative and connect with others in this relaxed, hands-on textile workshop for over 60s, celebrating one of Wakefield’s most famous exports: RHUBARB!
Join Ruth Agbolade from Upcycle Arts CIC and help create a colourful, giant textile banner inspired by our city’s unique rhubarb heritage. Working together, you’ll add your own creative contributions to a collaborative artwork, while exploring different textile techniques and experimenting with a range of materials.
Once complete, the banner will go on display at WX during Rhubarb Festival 2027, giving everyone who takes part the chance to see their work become part of the celebrations.
No previous experience is needed and all abilities are welcome. Come along, try something creative and help make a piece of community artwork celebrating what makes Wakefield special.
