Family Rhubarb Textile Workshop

Join Ruth Agbolade from Upcycle Arts CIC and help create a colourful, giant textile banner inspired by our city’s unique rhubarb heritage. Families will work together to add their own creative contributions to a collaborative artwork, learning textile techniques and experimenting with materials along the way.

Once complete, the banner will go on display at WX during Rhubarb Festival 2027, giving everyone who takes part the chance to see their work become part of the celebrations.

Open to all, regardless of experience, this relaxed workshop is a chance to get creative as a family, contribute to something made by the community and celebrate a little piece of what makes Wakefield special.

General Admission: Free, ticket required

Children of all ages are welcome, although the activities require a little dexterity and may be more challenging for younger children. Adults are encouraged to help where needed. Please book a ticket for everyone who will be taking part.
